Partner Taxation

Jonathan is a tax partner and has headed up our tax department since 1999. He is also the Chair of the Nexia Canada Tax Committee and a member of the Nexia International Tax Committee. Jonathan specializes in corporate and personal tax planning as well as both domestic and cross-border reorganizations and transactions. He has strong expertise in mergers and acquisitions architecture and execution. He had consulted on structuring many international in-bound as well as domestic acquisitions.

Under Jonathan’s leadership, Nexia Friedman’s Tax Department has grown to provide services to such diverse clientele as the entertainment industry, comedians, U.S. companies doing business in Canada, family-owned businesses, service companies, and clients in many other industries. Jonathan has lectured at McGill University, has been a featured guest expert on various local radio stations and is a resource person for income tax issues for the business editor of the Montreal Gazette. Jonathan is also intimately involved in various charity organizations where he has and continues to serve as president, treasurer and executive committee member.
